(1) Lathers nicely in salt water; (2) unscented but has a slight, inoffensive chemical smell that does not linger at all after rinsing; (3) gentle for sensitive skin including the private parts, and (4) disperses quickly and biodegrades after rinsing in the ocean.Cons. (1) A tad drying when used as shampoo, especially if you wash your hair daily with this product, (2) not ideal I’m told for folks who “need” sulfate-free shampoo, (3) stings the eyes (a lot) … you’ll make that mistake only once. So bear this in mind when using it on the kiddos.Bottom Line. Great product for marine environments. Repeat customer. We sail to beautiful coves and appreciate its low environmental impact. The soap suds disperse quickly and biodegrade. Lathers well in salt water, and allows one to get cleaned up without impacting the environment. Can also be used to wash clothing and dishes in a pinch.Side note / Product comparison. My wife also brought and used Sailors Soap to compare on our recent sailing trip. She said that in a fist fight, she prefers Sailors Soap over this product. They seem more or less the same to me (maybe Sailor Soap has an ever so slightly more pleasing smell). Me? I go with whichever one is on sale.
