I didn’t want to drop a lot of money and tie up my pickup truck bed installing a Fifth wheel package, just so I could tow around my travel trailer several times a year.I have a Gooseneck ball installed in the bed of my truck already and use it every day for work with my 35′ gooseneck trailer, I couldn’t find a viable option that didn’t cost and arm and leg and tie up my bed. Plus, I would have to uninstall the 5th wheel kingpin assembly and then find a place to store it every time I got back home and then hope I didn’t damage it or lose all the parts that I have to remove and install each time.I am glad I bought this; it makes my life so much easier, and now I am able to drop my work trailer, put this in the back of my truck and have my travel trailer ready to go with in minutes. With the value for the money, I was able to buy a quality storage locker and keep this in the locker on the wall, out of the way and at the ready.The build quality is very good, it handles the fifth wheel’s weight without issue, it looks great too, there’s no johnny-come-lately look to it, and its functionality is second to none for me.I like the handling; it doesn’t slop around, nor does it cause me any anxiety from falling off or coming loose. The frame has a place for safety chains and is just as strong as the rest of my truck.I have had no problems with it, but it did take a little time figuring out where to align the ball and fifth wheel up, as there weren’t any instructions that came with it. I put some permanent marker yellow marks on it and that takes all the guess work out of setting it up and getting it connected.I put a little over 2,000 miles on it driving to and from Arizona to Georgia, I had no issues with it and really appreciated the fact that it has a collar on it that prevents anyone from trying to steal anything. As I mentioned above, it was awesome that I was able to dismount the trailer and pull this right off, allowing me and my family to use the truck bed for hauling and carrying supplies around when I was in Georgia helping with storm repairs to the family farm.I would recommend this to anyone who already has a Gooseneck set up or doesn’t want to monopolize the back of their truck bed with a 5th wheel kingpin set up.
